Rules for life (stoic edition)

A Thread:
#1 You're life isn't short, you just haven't lived it.
"The part of life we really live is small. For all the rest of existence is not life, but merely time" - Seneca.

Don't waste your life, and if you do do not complain about it. Take control, achieve your goals.
Even better by Seneca "You squander time as if you drew from a full and abundant supply". We waste so much time doing things that don't interest us, and complain about life being short!
#2 Don't live a petrified life.

Go out, live your life. Have some dignity, some backbone and get out there to achieve your goals. As put by Shakespeare: “A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once.“
#3 Focus on your goals. Don't waste time on futile tasks.

"You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." - Marcus Aurelius.

Why worry about anything out of your control? You are wasting your precious energy and gaining nothing.
If you want something go as hard as possible until you get it. Just don't waste time on useless tasks.
#4 Don't say, do.

Actions speak louder than words. You should embody what you say. You should be an example through your actions.
#5 Always be there.

Death is always around the corner - Memento mori.

Marcus Aurelius: "Death smiles at us all, but all a man can do is smile back."

Life is short, enjoy yourself.
