REVIVAL REVIEW AND RATING THREAD:

This album is scrutinized by most to be a descent from his normal level. Eminem has been taking the heap of his hate from this album. Is it really that bad? Or is it a buried treasure that everyone disregarded?

Things To Know About 'Revival':

Definitely a low for Eminem, but highly exaggerated to be so bad. There are some gems on here if you dig deep enough. Revival is definitely not as bad as Hip Hop twitter makes it out to be.
1. ‘Walk On Water’

A track I like a lot. The production is great, you can hear papers tearing and to add to his struggle for writing a great verse. This track humanizes Eminem, Beyonce on the chorus is perfect as well, I just don't like the outro part but

10/10
2. ‘Believe’

This is a great track to follow up 'Walk On Water'. The lyrics in this are great. The production is great to me too, Eminem produced this one so đŸ”„. The chorus is alright, not his best tho. The violin at the end is beautiful.

9/10
3. ‘Chloraseptic’

This track has some great production. The chorus is great too. Nothing special from the subject matter. Em changes his vocals a lot in this one, sounds constipated. Some robotic flows that I didn't like either. The remix is 10 times better. Bad.

3/10
4. ‘Untouchable’

I hated this track the first time I listened to it. But now, this track is alright, I still hate the chorus but the beat switch and lyricism on this track are dope. Lots of passion. The second half is top tier but the first half is awful.

5/10
5. ‘River’

This track is not bad at all, I like the chorus by Ed. This is the relationship song that Eminem seems to love doing. Great bars on here and dope storytelling. When the intensity of the production gets higher, Ems vocals try hard but not that bad. Good song.

8/10
6. Remind Me’

This track is bad, bad, bad. The production and chorus are rock-inspired which can work, not this time tho. The verse is not good, classic corny lines like "heavy-duty like diarrhea". Maybe his worst song.

1/10
7. ‘Revival Interlude’

Great interlude, should've been a song tbh. Beautiful.
8. ‘Like Home’

Political track, dissing Donald Trump. Still some corny lines but overall some decent rapping. The chorus with Alicia Keys so basic and boring. Very radio, so meh.

4/10
9. ‘Bad Husband’

This track is about his relationship with Kim, he apologizes to her for his bad behavior. The chorus is boring, X Ambassadors don't do anything special, boring. But a very personal song and has some great emotional introspective lyrics.

6/10
10. ‘Tragic Endings’

Not a big fan of Skylar Grey choruses but this one is pretty decent. Another abusive relationship song, this one is pretty good tho. Em's storytelling is great on this song. Didn't expect to, but it's a decent track.

6/10
11. ‘Framed’

A very Relapse track. I love this track, the production is great, the chorus is a grower. This track has been in my rotation the first time I heard it and it has always been a fun tongue and cheek track. If you are into Relapse, you should like this track.

10/10
12. ‘Nowhere Fast’

This track has a decent chorus from Kehlani, talks about how he sees his position in the rap industry, decent bars, nothing special, flows well here tho. It's a very pop track, made for radio again. I don't like the outro of the song.

5/10
13. ‘Heat’

This is a really bad track, really weird production, not into it. Obviously very Rick Rubin inspired like a lot of the songs on the album. Very corny lines and weird flows. This is really bad. Nevermind, this is his worst song.

1/10
14. ‘Offended’

This comedic track is bar heavy, some good ones too. Some cool flows and the beat is decent, rappity rap track tho if you like it. The chorus is not good at all. If you like his faster flow, you'll enjoy this. The chorus weighs it down but this is alright.

5/10
15. ‘Need Me’

This is the most boring track so far. Pink's chorus is boring as hell. The chorus goes on for too long, it's annoying. Another Eminem relationship song, this could be a double entendre for Rap but '25 for life' is a better track that does that.

2/10
16. ‘In Your Head’

A sampling of 'Zombie' is pretty interesting in the production, its alright, passable. The lyrics talk about his regrets throughout his career. The energy of his delivery on this one carries the song. I liked it.

10/10
17. ‘Castle’

This is easily the best track on Revival, a storytelling track that is written like letters to his daughter throughout his life and career. This is a beautiful track with great production. Emotional lyrics and production are great. Art.

10/10
18. ‘Arose’

This track has great angelic production to follow its emotional lyrics. It depicts Eminem on his death bed, this is a tear-jerker. I almost teared up. The track reverses back to the beat of 'Castle', very creative. A brilliant ending to the album.

10/10
Final Thoughts And Rating:

The worst project Eminem has. The direction, tracklist, performance, and production is disappointing for the most part. The highs are surprisingly high tho, but the lows...sheesh. If you're into radio pop, you might like this one more than me.
... A shorter tracklist and better features could've saved this album but I'm happy we got it because Castle/Arose is too beautiful to lose. Overall, lots of bumps but can there are times of greatness sprinkled on top.

5/10
