Some significant developments in the #COVID19 LFT market in recent days, re: #AVCT:

i) Innova's test has taken a lot of flack in the press (sens. of 49% - although that is for all active infections).

ii) DHSC has pulled its latest tender for LFTs (see @Ophidian18 below).

iii) Hancock in the Commons yesterday: “we will be using millions of newly invented tests... made by our brilliant U.K. scientists.”

iv) UK secondary schools to commence weekly rapid testing of pupils in January.

If we assume the Gov will no longer buy the Chinese-made... 2/n

...Innova tests, then those stockpiles will quickly run out.

The Gov has repeatedly stated that it wants a UK-made, sovereign test. To my knowledge, they are:

- #AVCT
- Mologic
- Surescreen

The UK market alone will consume more than these three, combined, can manufacture. 3/n

When herd immunity is at last reached in the UK, international markets will take up the slack.

Innova sold its tests to the Gov for two months.

#AVCT @avacta needs a first-in-class LFT in order to enjoy sales for two YEARS and more.

Such a test will attract the.. 4/n

...attention of major players, who might also seek to license the Affimer tech for use in their own #COVID19 products.

This is why @avacta is not rushing its test.

And this is why I am at peace with the 'delay'.

Get this right, and #AVCT has a shot at legendary status.
