A thread:
So not to excuse Cyberpunk for being incredibly broken and for CDPR for not being transparent about that, but this whole situation is why it's super important for you to NOT PREORDER A GAME BASED ON A PROMISE!

I see so many people blaming this exclusively on one party or the other and it's, honestly, both of their faults. Here are a few reasons:
1. Consumers preorderd the game so much that CDPR (specifically the board) had a lot of incentive to just release the game, as evidenced by them making back all of dev and marketing cost on day 1 ( https://twitter.com/ZhugeEX/status/1337453791835254784?s=19)
Consumers bought into a promise big time.

2. CDPR were the ones who gave that false promise. All the game footage we saw said nothing about platform or performance which is a huge red flag. Reviews were embargoed from showing their own gameplay, another red flag.
CDPR should be held accountable for those false promises.

3. The game was initially teased at the tail end of the 360/PS3 generation. It's reasonable to expect it to be functional on the following generation of consoles (XBOne/PS4).
That is NOT a good enough reason to preorder a game, however.

Two things can be true:
-CDPR should be getting all the flak they currently are.
AND
-Consumers who preorderd the game helped cause this mess.
We get past this problem in the future by not buying into fancy marketing before the game releases. Make them earn your money people.
