I wrote an op-ed published today in California's Mercury News, discussing how it's time to stop runaway political spending by foreign-influenced U.S. corporations.
California's Proposition 22, which just passed, is the most recent example why.

Uber & Lyft, with other companies, spent a staggering $203M to pass Prop 22, regarding gig workers. Uber is appreciably owned by Saudi Arabia. Lyft is appreciably owned by a Chinese conglomerate. Why should foreign entities have any voice in our elections/ballot measures? 2/3
There's a popular solution: brightline foreign ownership thresholds. Federal, state & local lawmakers are starting to act. CA lawmakers should too. It's time to stop foreign influence, reign in runaway corporate political spending, and promote economic patriotism. 3/3
