i guess the thing is i’m not mad at lizzo. i’m sad. it’s sad, there’s grief. not because she’s doing a juice cleanse but because she’s posting about it.
so much i hate about weight loss culture is the performative aspect, the way fat women feel they have to prove at all times they’re trying to lose weight
it’s not about “lizzo did a jog and ate a carrot,” as i’ve seen some takes read, imo. it’s that she’s advertising snake oil and doing before and afters.
like i’m a lil sad about skinny adele too but she’s not posting about it. she’s just living. adele “ate a carrot and did a jog.” she’s not advertising weight loss to me.
it’s why body positivity sucks. it’s why “fat acceptance” can’t fall to individual fat people. the world is harsh and cruel to average fat people, much less a famous, black fat woman. everyone breaks.
fat liberation now. build the world for people so they don’t have to give up food to feel like they fit in it. idk. i should delete this.
