good morning! today I want to encourage you not to blame yourself for things that aren’t your fault.
if you were hurt by someone, change your narrative from “I should’ve known” to “I trusted them & they took advantage of that”. self-blame is fear of the truth masked in humility.

when you’re someone who wants to learn and grow from experiences, sometimes it’s easier to blame yourself; after all, if it’s your fault, that means you have control over the situation. it’s harder to admit to yourself that you were being your authentic self and still got hurt.
I’m going through this now and I realized I might as well cut to the chase & spare myself the undue self-criticism. in this situation, the only thing I could’ve done differently was be fake + not trust anyone. I’m never gonna do that. I was being my authentic self and I got hurt.
if you’re ever unsure of a situation, ask yourself “was I being my authentic self?” if the answer is yes, your healing will go much smoother.
place blame where blame is due. don’t beat yourself up over hurt and injustice because you give yourself the time of day to be loved.
