I don't know that I've read anything that says it so explicitly. Usually it's us writing about our frustration and need to feel one or the other, but I love the idea of us being able to say no - this identity, as it is, is valid bc my identity is valid.
And applying this to our creative endeavors -- imo this can go hand in hand with @jeannette_ng's excellent thread on writing as diaspora. Feeling comfortable in the specific spaces we inhabit and letting that exist on the page. https://twitter.com/jeannette_ng/status/1121562955047424000
