Interesting thread. Pondered over this in a previous tweet whether a Jati or Biradri should be the unit to be aimed at for 'ghar wapsi'. Social stigma and lack of acceptance in mainstream Hindu society are the biggest inhibitors towards any type of ghar wapsi. Perhaps one way to https://twitter.com/ka_pankha/status/1336590355060289537
about doing this is that the Hindu Jatis in their turn form their own individual units for targeting specific parallel Muslim Jatis for Ghar wapsi; people who they know are from the same ethnic stock and/or lineage. So, Hindu Jats could target groups of Muslim Jats in their area
to be brought back into the fold, Hindu Tyagis could aim to bring back Muslim Tyagis, Hindu Gujjars could aim to bring back Muslim Gujjars, and so on and so forth. In this way of working, the tough nuts to crack would be the Syeds and the Pathans and other Ashraf groups like them
who claim a foreign descent. 'Ghar Wapsi' of such people will only really be possible with a combination of community efforts from Hindus+Govt pressure.
