So what I learned while writing #ttrpg stuff in my native tongue and in Croatian:

The whole stuff is so anglophonized that it MAKES NO SENSE anymore in any other language.

It took me so long to find stuff that's going to pass trough and sound "normal" to players.
Now the issue extends to newer players as well. They need to be brought into the fold and though a gaming language and culture that puts a basis for them as well.

This includes safety tools, consent forms, and other things related to the local language and customs as well.
Also there's the issue with "dice/die" we use here "kocka" which means a 6 sided playing tool.

We have to invent new names for "dice" to use them locally without being anglinized.
The concept of Character is so HEAVILY based in anglosphere culture that we cannot even get to it.

Calling something a "character" here? Weill mostly come across as a caricature.

We use Antagonist/Protagonist instead. Why? The basis for heavy narrative culture we have here.
Everything I did? I had to stop, look at it from a #ttrpg design perspective in the anglosphere, the try and TRANSLITERATE or even find a local concept for that and try to not translate.

Translating TTRPGs is good but also bad... But that's just a shit take on my end.
Another thing everyone here wants? A quick guide for the game. Like MAXIMALLY A4, unless you can do that? The game won't be accepted.

So the #VRAČ game will come with a small A5 rulebook and a 2 A4 pages (apparently typeface demipetit is ok there) of instructions how to roll...
I felt like I was "inventing warm water" (zmišljavam toplu vodu, common saying when you're doing something already done...).

The issue was that "it's all fixed and done already"...
It's done for the anglosphere. For that culture. For that kind of players. That's why board games are a hit/miss here.

And why most people lately go for russian / polish / slovak / czech games.

They are "closer" to us in concept. And that's why I think that I MUST write #VRAČ
I regularly do "testing" moments. With several local players who are quite interested in this project. Mainly as I'm trying to make it work. I'm not translating D&D (like what people do here).

I'm working on a system and game that is "natural" to us.

Ok back to my rant. I really need to go and buy the espresso machine afterwards. I made too much coffee in the džezva and I have this stupid need / feeling like I need to drink every drop I made...

Rant we said?
Not only does that include the game / language!
It's also extending to the graphical design and representation of the whole game.

I noticed that Rules (ALL OF THEM) before how to make characters and so on are a needed thing for the local scene.
Due to the idea that "games are for kids" still existing? Games HAVE to look like that.

While I do want a more gritty look (Ok I admit it! I'm a sucker for Dark Fantasy that turns into Hopewave later on!)
Also the price has to be "child avereaged" aka. It HAS to be about the same as a normal toy.

Meaning that a STARTER SET SHOULD NOT be over 300HRK... That's 40€ for a starter set including: The rulebook, dice, quick sheets, pregenerated characters, done storyline, etc.
And that WILL be considered a REALLY pricey game.
That's why I can't think to do the production in a huge way as the book itself should maximally be 80hrk, so about 10€ for what people in the #ttrpg world call a "PREMIUM FULL-COLOUR HARDBACK"
Another issue here is the distribution. We do NOT have game stores. Stuff like that MUST be available in general retail stores. And those DO NOT have money.

People still do not like ordering online.
I can go on for ages, but ok. I did notice 3 specific things that people need here:
1) TTRPGs are Board games, that's how you have to market them
2) Games should come with "expansions" and starter sets. Instead of "core books"
3) HAS to sound good in Standard T_T
