No. 398 #CWGCAtoZ Allonville Communal Cemetery, France https://bit.ly/3a6WvDI  contains 79 @CWGC war graves, 78 of them from the #FWW. This photo, taken during an inspection visit in October 1922, shows the completed cemetery.

As one of the earlier sites to be completed, the original schedules, which were sent out to the stonemasons who were making the headstones, did not contain details of the ages of the casualties.

The @CWGC only decided to include the ages as part of the standard headstone layout in December 1921 - a decision recorded in the minutes of the 40th meeting of the Commission, which can be viewed here: https://bit.ly/3akc5vA

As a result, a supplemental sheet was sent on to the stonemason firm of G. Edwards, Shrewsbury, providing the ages of those buried in Allonville and details of how they should be added on to the headstones.
