Regarding PhDs: if you’re the kind of person who says “how can you call yourself Dr without a medical degree?” please go away and be quiet because you are embarrassing yourself.
The term “Dr” actually belonged to scholars and academics *first*. Medical folk adopted it after, not the other way around. It means teacher or learned person – not GP in a white coat. https://www.etymonline.com/word/doctor
Personally I deploy my “Dr” strategically and would never insist anyone use it – that’s cringe. But you thinking PhDs are stealing doctor valour or something is even more cringe.
