If you are a minor party or independent (unless you have got an immediate obvious constutuency of support), it could take at least 10 years of fantastic campaigning to build enough support to get anywhere near winning the seat. (And in that time they could redraw the boundaries).
..The establishment know this. That is why it is so frustrating that the Left blew their chance to democratise the Labour party.

Still, we are where we are!

All this talk of random independent socialists is a bit of a cul-de-sac.

We need to think strategically in each seat..
We need to support socialist MPs in the Labour party (especially those in marginal seats). And we need to look carefully at the best left alternative in each seat that can challenge the most rightwing Labour MPs. My focus would be seats where the Tories cannot win (see list).
