I like The Big Day by Chance the Rapper.

A Review
Greatness is hard to replicate, and if chance was anything in the 2010's, it was Great, after being brought to the limelight of Hip-Hop in 2013 with Acid Rap and proving his place there with 2016's Coloring Book, Chance was one of the biggest artists in the world.
Older attempts at making a debut had failed for Chance, such as 2018's infamous "Good Ass Job" with Kanye West. but Chance soon found inspiration for his next record after marrying Kirsten Corley-Bennett in March of 2019.
Three years after his last release (2017's Merry Christmas Lil Mama Re-Wrapped). Chance released his Debut Solo Album "The Big Day" to mostly positive critic reviews and the record debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. However, Fan Reception wasnt nearly as positive.
Multiple negative fan reviews came out in the weeks following the albums release, including an infamous 0/10 from popular critic @TheNeedleDrop. Multiple fans flocked to twitter to share their discontent and dissapointment with the album.
Undeniable BANGER "Hot Shower" seems to be one of the main targets within the album, often being labeled as "Tik-Tok Bait" or "Mindless Radio Trash".

To these people who dislike Hot Shower, i have 3 words, Quoted from Chance himself https://twitter.com/chancetherapper/status/1138855521144979456?s=20
Singles aside though, The Big Day is a touching tribute to Chance's Wife, Kirsten. The album is a concept album, revolving around Chance's Wedding Day and Chance's experiences and thoughts around his wedding day.
Chance starts the album with All Day Long, a banger that brings a lot of the same energy found in his other Intro tracks with chances signature unique flow and ex-GOOD Music signee John Legend on the hook, Chance also sampled John Legend on his track Good Ass Intro from Acid Rap.
Leading on from the end of All Day Long starts the 2nd single form the album, Do You Remember, featuring Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, where Chance reminisces on the summer of 2019, when he got married and some of his best friends reached new highs of success.
Eternal follows on from there, The Smino-Assisted cut preaches the difference between a Wife & a Side-chick and the importance of being loyal to your significant other. even as one of the more forgettable tracks, Chance still delivers a quality track
Since we've already discussed this one i'll keep it short. but Hot Shower is the greatest song of all time and the rampant degeneracy on this app when discussing it makes me lose faith in humanity whenever it is brought up in conversation
Less than a quarter into the album and we've already run into a dilemma, How do you improve on perfection? well, chance just about manages it on one of his best songs ever.
Incredible tribute to his wifes celibacy, We Go High is a touching piano ballad explaining how his wife forced him to look back at his past mistakes and improve as a person. Chance's questionable singing ability on this track is one of the only gripes i have with this album.
Kierra Sheard, Ari Lennox and En Vogue assist in the next track "I Got You (Always and Forever)". Despite the name being somewhat of a mouthful, this is one of the catchiest tracks on the album, and mirrors the upbeat high energy style of the Intro, All Day Long.
Entering the first skit is where another one of my problems lie with this album, even with John Witherspoon and Keith David, these seem entirely unneeded

they can be funny at times though
Skit 1 over, we enter Roo, a track where Taylor Bennett really gets to shine over the simplistic beat and both Bennett brothers drop a touching verse on this cut, definitely another standout on The Big Day.
Unto the Title Track of the album, This Francis & The Lights assisted track has to be the track that has been stuck in my head the most, despite being a downbeat chill track for 70% of the runtime.
Please bear with me here. LGOTR is up there with Hot Shower as the most hated track here, but Chances infectious hook and positive, hopeful energy on this one is exactly what i imagine 10 Day would sound like on a higher budget.

and cmon, how can you NOT sing along with the hook
Eh, i dont really feel Handsome as much as other people might, but its still a pretty good track with a top tier Meg Thee Stallion verse and self-praising Chance verse.
Right, were kinda entering a dark patch here, i dont really enjoy the next couple tracks and this is where i can see other peoples criticism of the album
Man, Big Fish is disappointing, especially considering Gucci Mane is on the 2nd best song of 2019, Icy by Logic.

pretty boring track with nothing really special about it.
And once again, Ballin' Flossin' aint really my cup of tea either. I can barely remember anything about it and I'm listening right now.

bassline is pretty funky though
Next skit, featuring Keith David is easily the best skit on the album, but still not anything special. Still stan Keith David though.
Slightly odd feature choice with 5 Year Plan, but Randy Newman is decent here, another gripe here as i would've preferred if this was an outro, but thats just a small one
The next track, Get A Bag is a return to the kind of quality we were getting in the first quarter, with an upbeat banger with a FIRE beat

bang bang bang, ookah bookah
Return to Form kinda pauses with Slide Around, but the lull doesnt last long here, just a little bit boring
And the 3rd best track on the album Sun Come Down is sonically similar to We Go High, being a slow, heartwarming ballad dedicated to Kirsten. this track brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face every time.
Incredibly underrated track, Single No More, follows it up, with another upbeat bop. not much to say here but it slaps
Next Song, Town On The Hill, is another kinda boring track. but we move.
Eh, Our House is another skit, not very good either.
Rodgers & Hammerstien Classic, Zanies and Fools is next and is a great way to finish out the album, with the best Nikki Minaj verse ever.

fight me
