Bio thread: I am a teacher, trade unionist, and journalist.
In 2012, I transitioned. Looking back, I have mixed feelings about it. It brought relief to me but it certainly didn't help my family. [1/7] https://www.hoodmagazine.co.uk/blog/debbie-hayton-journey

It took several years for me to work out *why* I transitioned. It certainly wasn't because I was some sort of woman. Nor did I need to have some metaphysical female "essence" or gender identity. and women's sports. [5/7] https://twitter.com/5_News/status/1098309581812482048
But I am most concerned about the impact on children. [6/7] https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/1205162626352844801
Moving forwards, we need a far more honest debate about these issues so that people struggling with gender dysphoria can find the help they need, not a quick fix.
