Starting ENDGAME. Disney+ gives the warning “contains product placement.”
I really like the use of Skinny Steve Rogers tech to make Tony gaunt during the stranded in space sequence.
It’s really obvious that they have Captain Marvel say/do very little because they hadn’t made her film yet and didn’t want to hem in the character. But it’s weird she just stands around.
When they get to Thanos’ garden planet Steve looks at a picture of Peggy. Why not Bucky! That’s who he’s trying to bring back to life!
Retired Thanos wearing an artisanal distressed t-shirt he bought for $800 at an Echo Park boutique.
Rhodey shows up to tell Nat that Barton has been doing some terrible, evil stuff. You know the kind of stuff that can only be narratively redeemed by sacrificing himself to get a Soul Stone.
The time traveling through Scott bit is really fun. Tony lampshading the plot by asking "Your plan is BACK TO THE FUTURE?" is less so.
Don't love this movie, but it features a Kinks needledrop so it's still better than most other superhero movies.
Fat Thor yelling at 12 year olds on video games is an actual personal attack on me.
Love hearing Jeremy Renner speak Japanese.
A crime that the Avengers don't mention LOOPER when talking about time travel movie mechanics. (AKA more lampshading)
So @MsGeorgiaOQueef and I have very different opinions of Fat Thor, but we have come to a respectful understanding. You paying attention, Democrats and Republicans?
The thing about ENDGAME is that it's a clip show episode, and if you are okay with that, it's a very good clip show episode. I never liked clip show episodes.
Watching Captain America vs Captain America is a good opportunity to boast that I have done shots with Chris Evans.
Huge respect to Natalie Portman for not coming back just to get stabbed in the ass by a rabbit.
This movie spends so much time on Nebula and yet doesn't use her the correct way - SHE should undo the snap, not Hulk.
Love that this movie canonically takes 5 years off RDJ by having Tony Stark born in 1970.
Cap seeing Peggy through a window in 1970 should be the last time he sees her.
My take on Nat/Clint at Vormir
Why don't they call Captain Marvel to snap the glove? There's no rush.
Love seeing one of my favorite covers homaged.
The final battle against Thanos is cool, but it's totally phony. It's just there to give these characters closure, part of the movie's insistence on removing from the Avengers the weight of dealing with failure.
I don’t mind that Thanos breaks Cap’s shield - it happens a lot in the comics! - it’s that he does it with some random blade.
Who fetched Wasp
