Found out today my dad, an ICU nurse in Des Moines, has COVID. If you still refuse to wear a mask because _______ (fill in the blank reason, honestly I don’t give a shit anymore) you are truly scum and don’t deserve an ounce of consideration or respect from anyone ever again. 1/6
You’re are not being asked to fight a war, or climb a mountain, or conquer a fear. You’re not some fucking hero standing up for your liberty or freedoms or anything else. You’re just a selfish prick whose either too weak or too cowardly to do the right thing. 2/6
We are asking you to wear a mask for a short time to protect yourself and others from a virus that has already killed more Americans than 19 months of World War 1. If you don’t care enough about your neighbors, friends, or your own family to do even then bare minimum, 3/6
then stop calling yourselves patriots or “wolves among sheep” or whatever other bullshit delusion of grandeur you imagine for yourself. And stop wrapping yourselves in the flag claiming you’re resisting tyranny, you’re not. 4/6
You’re just a hypocrite who clearly doesn’t care about your country or countrymen, just your own comfort and inflated sense of self importance. Healthcare workers are patriots. They risk their lives everyday for people they dont know, and they are getting sick as a result. 5/6
You wanna be a patriot, show how badass you are and stand up for what’s right? Then stand 6 feet apart and wear a goddamn mask. 6/6
