Not everything is God's will, Erick. God gave us freedom. Since then, we've all used that freedom to do evil—that is, we've sinned against Him. In doing so, we aren't carrying out His will for our lives; rather, we're thwarting it. Yet He's longsuffering, desiring our repentance. https://twitter.com/EWErickson/status/1338477786869215234
If you hold onto the idea that every event is willed by God, then you annihilate His good and holy character. You make Him into a moral monster indistinguishable from Satan. This is the primary problem with divine determinism.
Apply Erick's reasoning to Roe v. Wade. If it was God's will, why are we fighting to preserve innocent human life from being "legally" extinguished in Planned Parenthood clinics? Why do we fight for anything? If all is God's will, we only thwart Him by fighting against anything.
If only Erick had been around when Hitler rose to power to tell us it was God's will so we could all stand down and let him take over the world and exterminate all the Jews. How silly of us for standing up to darkness to defeat it when God will that it was so.
