It’s not hard to find photos with filters, stickers, words like “cute/pretty/sexy” on or to describe photos of self harm in these communities.
It’s a pretty common theme here, just as it was in self harm communities on tumblr and elsewhere.

Self harm Twitter is NOT a safe space. A safe space shouldn’t be an echo-chamber to continue enabling a dangerous addition.
Seriously, the amount of what could have been fatal wounds is staggering (which I won’t show).

Finding this content isn’t difficult, either. Especially considering people post gore fancams (fan videos) in other #’s, I even saw someone tag it with LGBTQ-related #’s.
There have *plenty* of instances where people have spoken up about shtwt and were met with gore, self harm photos, and/or were bullied out of talking further about it.
Shtwt and edtwt are dangerous. Period. They also violate @Twitter guidelines (not the point of this thread)

Ever since @tiktok_uk cracked down on the spread of harmful content, I’m hoping @Twitter seriously follows suit. Not just with self harm, but also with the rampant pedophilia, zoophilia, and all sorts of other terrible things. https://yhoo.it/3r33Mun
Ideally, @Twitter removes self harm content and #’s, but they also need a proactive approach. Providing an extensive list with a variety of resources in place of certain #’s or somewhere else that is accessible to all users.
