Something you have to find a clear balance with when managing social media: strategy vs. tactics

You don’t want to be so strategic that you skimp on tactics

and you don’t want to be so tactical that you lose your sense of strategy
When others want me to post on social, I always ask this...

Strategy:
How does this serve our audience?
What is the goal of this post?
Does this drive engagement?
How does this fit in with the overall social media strategy?
Tactics:

Copy is clear, concise and easy to read
Message and goal of the post is clear
Proper grammar and punctuation
ALT text is included
Tags are correct for the platform
There are a lot of people out there when first entering the social media field that get really caught up in tactics and how everything looks.

Don’t let that take you away from your strategy, your goals for social and what you’re trying to achieve. Let the tactics support it.
