Devaughn Robinson grew up in the Bahamas and didn't take up the game until he was 11. But the golf bug bit him hard. Access to courses wasn't great so "there was a lot of swings in the yard, lots of broken windows and chunks of out of our carpet" The course, when he did get to
play wasn't very good. "But it had clubs, balls, and holes, and that is all that mattered to me" He worked in the bag room after High School and kept his dream alive of playing golf in the States and making it to the tour. He was shooting around par at the time but no schools
knew about him. He would eventually get to the States and go to Texas Southern because a good friend had played there. Despite no one knowing about him he would make the team as a walk-on and play all four years for them. The timing or finances has never been right to turn pro
32 now and with a 19-month-old son. He works about 7am to 3pm in the drafting and design business then heads to course for 3 or 4 hours of practice, then back home for some time with his family. He's won a handful of Am events in the Houston area, and today...
