@CDPHE just told me they've no idea what it means to be one of the
"Patients Currently Hospitalized for COVID-19” listed on their dashboard

Literally no idea

@GovofCO & Modelers base almost everything on CDPHE hospitalizations. It's never been defined

Explanation follows

How do I know @CDPHE has no clue what their own metric means?

On November 5th I filed a Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request with CDPHE asking:

2/7
@CDPHE response on Nov 12 below: we don’t collect such info.

Strange, they're basing everything on hospitalizations yet don’t track what it means?

They say they don't know if any hospitalizations are incidentally Covid hospitalizations because they don't COLLECT such data.

Needless to say, that threw me for a loop. So I filed another CORA request on Nov. 20 asking if @CDPHE ever communicated with any hospital about what it means to be hospitalized for Covid:

4/7
No response for 21 days (law says 3 days). So on Dec. 11, I pointed this out to them.

@CDPHE responded today to the question:
Does CDPHE have any communications with hospitals as to what qualifies as a Patient Currently Hospitalized for COVID-19?

They said:

5/7
@CDPHE maintains they have no knowledge of the nature of Covid hospitalizations & they never communicated w/any hospital in the state regarding the criteria for a patient to be labeled as a Covid-19 hosp.

Does that seem plausible?
Are they playing games? Lying? Incompetent?

6/7
@GovofCO always points to hospitalizations as basis for his actions.

CO modelers base their predictions on hospitalizations.

@CDPHE doesn't know (or is hiding) what it means to be hospitalized.

Feels like Epic Incompetence or Epic Corruption.

Please spread the word.
