1/7 I’m so fed up of this kind of crap from journalists who should know better.

This is an account from a friend of mine on Facebook...

“I was seriously ill with covid late Sep. I was in ICU and on a ward where everyone else on that ward had #COVID19 ...
2/7 “It’s so annoying for me when so many people say it’s just like the flu. I am in my fifties and had flu dozens dozens of time throughout my life it kept me in bed /couch two days at the most. When I had the covid virus I spend 5 and a half weeks in bed hospital/home”...
3/7 “I couldn’t go the toilet. I had to use a commode. I was so weak I would black out. I was struggling to breathe all the time. I was on the highest oxygen for eleven days as my lungs couldn’t cope with COVID...
4/7 “When I got home again I could not walk for nearly six weeks. My son had to bathe me wash my hair. When you come out of hospital you are assigned to the covid community team who monitor you for two weeks to make sure you can breathe with special exercises...
5/7 “They refer you to the breathe rehibilitation team who helped me walk and breathe. I’m with them till Feb .. I have never experienced anything like it , or felt so ill in my entire life. I’m still struggling to breathe on the slightest task...
6/7 “I’m still struggling to walk far. If I do too much my oxygen levels start to drop and I feel dizzy and feel like I’m going to black out. I sweat profusely all the time as COVID messes with your temperature control. I still get aches, pains, foggy brain...
7/7  “I can’t sleep with nightmares of people dying and families sobbing /screaming on FaceTime. I had to tell my son on FaceTime I was dying and I don’t think I’m going to make it, listening to him sobbing telling me to breathe. It angers me when people compare it to the flu.”
