Seeing all these music articles highlighting different cities & their artistic communities yet not one has touched Madison, Wisconsin. Here’s a thread of artists that have managed to make waves in the Frozen Tundra
Before @KennyHoopla rise to stardom last year, not many of you may have known that this young king was a regular in the 608. August Shop was one of his many homes, and you could see him there on the regular.
@slowpulpband are another fantastic group with roots in both Madison and Chicago. Their shows at the High Noon Saloon were always exceptional. I’ll be back to catch more once venues begin to open back up.
@TedParkBoi can’t sleep on this guy. Ted came onto my radar when he and another Madison native @djpain1 released Hello back in 2016. Since then the rapper has made massive gains on the global landscape and beyond. Shoutout West High School.
@ConorKeogh11 one of my favorites. I’ve been working with this star since he was 15 years old. He had a hell of a start with his first single reaching 300K streams this month, & sold out his first ever show in our hometown at 16 years of age. Peep this kid, he’s the future.
@CeceMaravilla is incredibly talented. Not only is she a great singer, but her production skills are unmatched. Coming off her own debut success, with Motions nearing 200k streams, she has moved to Chicago and has a full slate of splendid songs lined up for y’all.
@lilchiapet is another hidden gem. This guys got bars. He came onto my radar after releasing his debut album “Guest Check”. Cigarillo and Mood Ring are two of my favorite tracks. For any Hip Hop heads reading this I encourage you to check him out. Word is he’s got an album coming
@GODLYTHERULER is another favorite. His music & branding are on point. A visually inspiring artist, you’ve got to check out his Instagram/Youtube performances. Godly’s got a mix of hip hop, punk, and a whole lot of personality that just smack you in the face, in a good way.
@ArthurCaplan6 is an artist to watch. Taking inspiration from Flume, this guy can do it all. He can make a hip hop track, dance/electronic banger, or even something soft for the sad ones. His TikTok game is strong, wouldn’t be surprised if one of his mashup videos blow up next.
Lastly, the one and only @unusualdemont . One of my top picks to break through in 2021. Coming seemingly out of nowhere, Demont took the world by storm and never looked back. If you’re a fan of Frank Ocean & Steve Lacy don’t hesitate to tap in, he’ll steal your heart.
