Velociraptors from Jurassic Park have many inaccuracies

Let's dive in and dissect this dinosaur

this is also a thread for my artist friends if they want to draw dinosaurs.
Let's start with the obvious, the size.

JP Velociraptor size is based on Deinonychus, not only the size but appearence.

Velociraptor had the size of a turkey in real life.
Velociraptor head was much more slender than that of the JP raptors.

lips are an interesting addition since it has been suggested large carnivorous dinosaurs had them, is not strange to suggest smaller ones had it.
JP uses reptilian snake like eyes for their raptors which wouldn't have been the case.
The eyes of Velociraptor would have been more similar to those of birds, specially those of Eagles and Vultures.
Also, feathers, Velociraptors were known to be feathered.

also the arms, the palms were parallel to eachother and folded in a way similar to a wing.

Dinosaurs couldn't pronate their hands like we do

meaning the JP raptor has broken arms
Now, intelligence...

Raptor intelligence in JP is inconsistent

it goes from opening doors in the first one to JPIII were they claim they were more intelligent than dolphins.
Dinosaur intelligence remains a contentious topic.

Studies on other dromaeosaurs have shown they were intelligent, but the level was similar to that of birds.

Think of Crows or Kea Parrots
The intelligence level of raptors migth have been close to the Kea Parrots that live in the mountains of New Zeland, intelligent and curious animals able to solve puzzles and even cooperate to find food.

and cooperation leds me to the next point.

pack hunting
Raptors are often depicted hunting in packs exhibiting beheviours similar to wolves.

the reality is... it wasn't likely the case.
The basis of pack hunting comes from the various skeletons of Deinonychus found alongside one a Tenontosaurus.

It was originally belived they were a pack, but a key aspect contradicts it.
In every pack of any animal, there are often found members of different age groups represented from old to young.

the Deinonychus skeletons were all sub adults.
This pattern reflects that of Komodo Dragons, often they would gather around a dying animal and engage in a feeding frenzy were sometimes the dragons eat eachother.
Also, pack hunting behaviour is rare in birds.

two examples are the Harris's Hawk and Aplomado Falcon and in reptiles it can be found to a lesser extent in the Cuban Crocodile.
Also, Velociraptor fossils have't been found in groups but usually isolated.

Now this behaviour hasn't been ruled out since there is still more evidence needed.
