“They” are Patriarchal White Supremacists. They do not want equality. They want the legal and societal right to control EVERYONE else for their personal benefit. Patriarchy is as much of white supremacy as racism is.
Most don’t know that because patriarchy is so deeply embedded in our society that it almost doesn’t need to be said. There are no female Proud BOYS. People ask what they want.
They want to go back to the 1940s and early 1950s when the white male reigned supreme - their lives made infinitely more comfortable by society’s theft of life and quality of life of women and non-whites.
They don’t want “everyone” to have food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, or education! They want others to be disadvantaged and desperate so they can be forced to give ever more for ever less.
It’s not hard to understand- just so abhorrent to those of us who have empathy, compassion, and a conscience that our brains almost refuse to understand. That refusal to come to terms with the real horrors presented to us - and quickly - will be our undoing.
Some say that what it takes for evil to take hold is for good people to watch and not take action. What that overlooks is that good people do nothing because their brains can’t actually come to terms with what they are seeing.
It’s a matter of basically non-violent people numbed by what they are confronting. They are amygdaloid- fight driven. We are frontal lobe driven - talk, negotiate, do the best we can to maximize the quality of everyone’s lives.
They are interested in only their own.
We have to somehow comprehend that and developed a method of stopping it - and that may require blood.
