@AliAbdaal’s #PTYA course just ended and I am so sad. If you’re looking for a YouTube course - this is the one. It has given me so much value I don’t even know where to begin! Here is a review/ my progress: (embracing learning in public, here goes)
Before #PTYA: I was at 566 subs
- no structure to videos
- no idea how how generate ideas for videos
- not sure who I was making videos for
- spending 10+ hours editing one video
- uploading 1x every 2-3 weeks
- frustrated, sad and alone
= making v little progress

After #PTYA: Now at 645 subs after 4 weeks
- learnt the HIVE structure
- done some bird singing and coal mining to get tons of ideas
- (sort of) identified my target audience = UK vet students!
- spend 4 hours editing instead
- I upload every week now
- have circle friends!

I set a goal to reach 1000 subs by end of 2020, evidently am no where near it (lol!) but I now understand that chasing subs is not the main thing, but being consistent with producing videos weekly and serving your target audience with useful content is! (+ have fun)
Lastly this process was even more enjoyable with the accountability buddies I’ve made on the Circle!
honestly wouldn’t have made progress without them, shout out to them for listening to my mini video meltdowns, offering advice & encouragement, I love them so much!

Also forgot to mention the many valuable guest workshops they have by @cahouser @RobbieCrab @david_perell which I’ve yet to catch up on as was doing vet school
So huge thank you to @lizfilips @apmparker @AliAbdaal and the team + peer supporters for everything, such an amazing team
