This is a monstrous milestone for the IOTA protocol. A slew of new capabilities, and some drastic simplification of the core are now ready for testing. Particularly excited for:
✅EdDSA support
✅A full binary protocol layout
✅Whiteflag capabilities
✅Reusable addresses
✅Addition of UTXOs
✅Atomic transaction capabilities
✅Improved Tip selection with URTS
✅Improved milestone selection
Now we just need to get the autopeering integrated with the new node structures, sort through the bugs, audit the code and get a stress test on the network to see what the new protocol is really capable of! I expect some really nice numbers from the stress test.
Expect us to write some detailed releases in the coming month or two. Outlining what each of these improvements and new capabilities really means. How it effects solutions building on the core protocol. And why the changes matter for the network and what it can accomplish!
