it’s really weird only really being aware of Cyberpunk 2077 *after* this release

honestly the biggest thing I’m struggling with is trying to understand what sort of amazing boundary-pushing game people were expecting?
it’s certainly not a game for me, I guess
trying to think of the last game I was aware of pre-release hype for AND I thought was good...
candidates I’ve been able to come up with, in chronologicalish order:
* Warcraft 3
* Half-life 2
* Supreme Commander
* Left 4 Dead
* Animal Crossing New Horizons
to be clear I’ve liked plenty of games that *had* pre-release hype, just that I wasn’t aware of it lol
