1/4 Signs that Cabinet Ministers don’t know their responsibilities.
How can this government close Deacon House - in the midst of a Pandemic and with winter approaching?
2/4 As an MLA I expect Cabinet Ministers to fully be aware of the services their depts deliver to Islanders
The closure of Deacon house for men struggling with alcohol and/or chemical dependency is heartless and disappointing
3/4 I asked the Minister of SD and Housing in the legislature on Nov 24th for assurance to Islanders on the future of Deacon House. He did not respond.
Previously, the Min of H&W denied that Deacon House would be closing
4/4 It’s time this government do what is right for Islanders and keep these services open - Peoples lives depend on it.
