Belatedly, here's my weigh-in on the #JillBidenisADoctor situation. I worked for an elite institution for a while in which everyone (with few exceptions) were Ms. or Mr. My colleagues with doctorates (by and large women) were told that they shouldn't use Dr. as a title.
It created a "hierarchy among colleagues." Over time, a few of the younger women and non-binary folks on the faculty started to claim that title, and use it with their students. The male colleagues with PhD's who had started the trend of "equalizing" didn't get it.
They had no idea how their easily won authority impacted their ability to simply pick up and put down titles with ease.
So, yes. Jill Biden is Dr. Biden (whether you agree with it or not is, frankly, irrelevant). Also, that's Rev. Kiddo/Honey/Baby to you.
