feel very slimy for reporting this as a bug but given this whole game is about continuing dynasties it is a very strange strategic decision from the AI that makes me wonder what's happening under the hood https://twitter.com/JessBoneBreaker/status/1338529313474416640
Excl. the fertility factor, older women might seem to the AI to make the most advantageous spouses as they
- have the best skills (they develop over time)
- already have claims to titles (i.e. their parents are dead- the game doesn't seem to track people IN LINE to get claims)
- have the best skills (they develop over time)
- already have claims to titles (i.e. their parents are dead- the game doesn't seem to track people IN LINE to get claims)
Makes me wonder if the fertility check is just straight up not working, or if the AI is looking for spouses for eligible heirs very young and picking the best (oldest) spouses at the time without factoring in that they may not be fertile by the time the heir comes of age
I've been seeing this happen most to heirs of counts, so another explanation could be that prestige is weighted heavily, and they are getting the only spouses they can get from the most prestigious families, that aren't already snapped up by dukes and kings
