Last night, an LDS friend messaged me asking about this:

"The Pope says he’s infallible, but Catholics don’t believe it. The Prophet says he isn’t infallible, but Mormons don’t believe it.”

So, because so many of my friends and followers are LDS, here's the thing...
The Pope is infallible when he speaks from the Chair of St. Peter (ex cathedra) in cooperation with the Magisterium. This is rare.

Infallible statements, in recent time, have happened *twice*.
In 1854, the Church affirmed the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. In 1950, the Church affirmed the doctrine of the Assumption of Our Lady.

That’s it, folks.
Homilies aren’t infallible. Encyclicals aren’t infallible. The live-broadcast Easter Mass isn’t infallible. Casual conversations aren’t infallible.

So, is the “Pope infallible”? Eh.

Should you learn about other religions before designing a couplet about them? 💯
