Cycled Parnell St - Wickham St earlier - 2 cars parked outside the chipper in the lane.
Passed them out & got back on my way. Not too far up the lane I came across this car straddling the cycle lane waiting at the traffic lights
Passed them out too as they smiled & apologised. Made my way up Wickham St where I met my next box of joy who to be fair had moved by the time I passed the junction.
Final leg of my 400ish metre cycle & I meet my last badly parked (illegally parked even?) friends putting up Xmas arrangements on a shop front - parked in the cycle lane & on the footpath.
This cycle route is unsafe & not fit for purpose. I’m an adult with full mobility. What about the school kid or older cyclist who has to navigate these hazards? They may not get injured but it certainly puts them off & hence they return to the safety of being driven/driving.
@LimerickCouncil Transport SPC tomorrow. Will this serious reversal of safety measures be examined?
