Studies repeatedly show that direct cash assistance to folks who need it helps them far more effectively and longer-term than any "charitable donation." Forego the tax deduction and #HelpFolksLive2020.

Helping someone pay the rent/avoid eviction, put food on the table, keep the lights & heat on (it's winter!), put gas in the tank or cover car repairs, buy scrips or get medical care (it's a pandemic, dammit!)? Hell, give their kids something for Christmas?
That's better than any tax deduction.
