It's super exciting when founding CEOs 1) get to self-conviction around building strong executive teams and 2) start thinking about placing and moving the chess pieces versus being on the chess board themselves.
Before-team era:
- Can't find anybody qualified
- Let's hire the do'ers first
- I know best
- It's too early
- Outside hires << internal promotions
- People will leave if we hire above them
- No high quality execs want to join us
After-team era:
- we should have hired even earlier
- how did we live life before the team?
- I am learning so much from the other execs
- I now have time to think
