I want to tell a story about my dad and @jlbiii3 from when Jessie was a sophomore at Wake Forest. I have said on here many times how my dad could (and did) make new friends anywhere he went. This is one of those stories and since he passed in May I want to tell it. https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1337482813948506115
@jsgarbs had just started his Freshman year at @WakeForest and my parents decided to drive there to see the campus and visit him. He was redshirting so they couldn't see him play. If you have never been to Wake it is kind of a confusing campus, especially for 2 senior citizens.
So they were driving around lost looking for Garbs' dorm when my mom finally convinced my dad to stop and ask a student walking down the street if they knew where to go. When they asked him, he said, "That's my dorm, I'm headed there now." My parents asked him if he knew...
Justin Strnad. He said, "That's my roommate hahaha." Turns out the they had stopped Jessie who was Garbs football roommate Freshman year. He got in the car and they drove him to the dorms then they all went out for breakfast. This made my dad so happy, meeting new people.
From then on whenever he would see Jessie at games or when he came to visit Garbs in FL or to train for the NFL, dad would get so excited and Jessie was always so nice to him. If the Packers weren't playing at the same time he would look for Bengals games to see Jessie play.
He cheered when Jessie got drafted. I'm just so happy to see this kid succeeding and killing the league. He deserves every ounce of success and accolades he gets. Just for being so nice to an old man he didn't know at all. So thanks Jessie.
