Why "tolerate it" by Taylor Swift could be a tribute to Princess Diana and Prince Charles's relationship?, a thread.
"tolerate it” is the track 5 of Taylor Swift’s 9th album "evermore", released on December 11. This song is from the POV of a woman and her struggle of wanting love from her husband who isn’t even paying attention to anything she does for him. Referring to the monotony of love.
Taylor Swift said in an interview for EW that some songs from her latest surprise album were inspired by the films she watched in quarantine. So it seems that Taylor took inspiration for this song from Netflix's the crown, that released its 4th season a month before "evermore".

"You’re so much older and wiser”

“I take your indiscretions all in good fun”

~ Referencing Prince Charles' affairs with Camilla Parker Bowles.
"I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it"

~ "tolerate it" is evermore’s [track 5] that is known to always be reserved for Taylor's most vulnerable song on each album.
Finally, Taylor explained the song in a YouTube chat to celebrate the premiere of the “willow” music video, emphasizing that the track is [so visual]:
And that's it. Remember, it's a theory, it may or may not be true. If it is, Taylor really created a masterpiece with deep lyrics. Queen of storytelling for a reason.
