Going through the film from the #Badgers loss at Iowa this weekend.
Here is what stuck out/what needs to change moving forward:
Here is what stuck out/what needs to change moving forward:
#1: Tim Brando is amazing
2: the FOX camera angle is so, so much better for rewatching what happens. the ABC angle is weird and way too low to the field

Iowa first drive:
-First TFL by Nick Herbig (he's awesome)
-But look at NT Keeanu Benton completely ruin the play and force the Iowa RB to Herbig on the outside...those are things that don't show up on the stat sheet

Same drive:
-3and7 for the Hawkeyes past midfield
-The #Badgers were in this coverage look at lot to start the game w/ Donte Burton lined up way off the receiver
-Play was made short of the sticks (and I don't know why Iowa didn't go for it), but the cushion made no sense to me

Maybe the answer is they don't want to get beat over the top, which did happen later in the game.
But Petras had two throws like that on the first drive to WRs that had a massive cushion and were able to pick up good yardage. A stop is a stop but Iowa could've capitalized early

#Badgers now on the field at their own 20. Let the slow unraveling begin
#Badgers' first drive:
-Before the bad, there was some good here
-12 personnel, offensive staff sets Dunn in motion, PA to Watson, easy rhythm throw from Mertz to Ferguson with the o-line showing run block
-Got the LBs biting just enough to allow Ferguson to get the edge

Next play:
-Wildcat look #1 (which will be significant later in the quarter)
-Bortolini pulls to the strong side and leads Groshek through the hole
-The play worked. And that's the problem because Chryst tried to run something different off this same look later in the game

The fumble:
-Dike (yet again) makes a horrible and easily-avoided mistake (last wk it was forgetting to block down the field)
-They're faking the sweep to him BUT HE RUNS RIGHT INTO WHERE MERTZ IS HANDING OFF THE BALL
-I don't know what else to say. That just can't happen
