Maybe Moeed read European authors because it was only European authors who covered the battle of Jehlum.

The only eastern person to write about Porus was Ferdowsi, who did it more than a thousand years after the battle had taken place. https://twitter.com/fawadchaudhry/status/1338495647444557824
People don’t understand how ancient history works. You take ancient historians as reference, acknowledging the fact that their recorded history has excess and exaggerations but that doesn’t mean they’re imaginary. There are various versions of the battle of Hydaspes
And all of them, though different in details, arrive at the same conclusion.

Unfortunately that fairytale of a book ‘Indus Saga’ covered the revisionist accounts of how the battle took place and fooled a lot of people (including myself) into believing it.
You’ll understand what the ‘Indus Saga’ stands for when you read the preceding articles that Aitzaz Ahsan wrote. It hardly has any historic narration, mostly just deals with his personal socialist ideals mixed with an artificial continuity, sprinkled with the occasional revision
