So, I hit 100 followers over the weekend! That’s crazy! Thank so much for the support, everybody. I took a big swing this year starting the blog (and more recently, the podcast). I didn’t know if it would even get seen. It means a lot that some folks like it! (1/6)

At the start of the year I was feeling depressed and stressed at my old job. I decided that my mantra for 2020 would be “But even so” (a line from my favorite Gundam series, Unicorn). Even if things were hard I had to tell myself “Even so” and keep moving forward. (2/6)

The year got so much harder than I was expecting when I made that decision, and there were days it didn’t feel like enough. But I had family and friends—some of whom I only met because of the blog—to help me get past the rough spots. I am eternally grateful to them. (3/6)

“But even so” was a useful mantra, but for 2021, it’s not enough. I don’t want to just settle for pressing onwards—I want to really push myself. I want to make the blog & podcast even better. I want to collaborate with more people. I want to make homebrew content. (4/6)

In 2021 I want to stop telling myself “you can’t do that, you aren’t good enough,” and start doing all the things I’ve been too afraid to try. If I were to assign a snappy pop-culture slogan to it again, I’d pick Captain Marvel’s: “Higher, further, faster, more.” (5/6)
