"they are not willing to be the guinea pig, uh, the rabbit as we say in dutch..."
this is not a crazy statement. these early mRNA vaccines are essentially a form of gene therapy. such a vaccine has never been used in humans before.
risk/benefit looks poor for many people. https://twitter.com/veritasnewsfeed/status/1338113673257230342

a typical vaccine is 5-7 years in development. this has been 5-7 months.
with a new vaccine type, you'd want to be more, not less careful. this has been the opposite.
we really do not have a sufficient safety profile and won't for years.
that's important to know.

the underlying disease is less dangerous that flu to the young and healthy. presuming that most health professionals fit that category (under 65, healthy) then this could easily be undue risk.
would you agree to experimental gene therapy to avoid the flu?
i wouldn't.

let's not forget what happened in the UK when they rushed an H1N1 vaccine to market.
they mandated it and had given it to 6 million in the UK including many healthcare workers before they realized it was causing permanent narcolepsy and had to pull it from market as unsafe.

they had given it to 10% of the UK by then for an epidemic that was already over but being mis-diagnosed as ongoing due to over sensitive PCR tests (sound familiar?)
then the lawsuits started. but there is no cure for that narcolepsy. it's for life.
also worth knowing.

being pro vaccine (and i am) does not mean taking reckless chances for small gains. i'm pro medicine too, but i'm not up for popping untested pills.
it is ALWAYS about risk reward and for many, this is high risk, low reward.
consult your own doctor, but ask real questions.

you do not want to make a mistake with poorly tested gene therapy.
maybe it's right for you, maybe it's not.
that's your call in consultation with those you trust.
but know it's a complex choice, so get some information and make it well. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7076378/

mandates for a course this risky and of such small benefit to so many are an abhorrent idea.
it amounts to forcing a drug trial upon the whole of society.
resist the calls for such and cute claims like "if you drank from a beer pong cup, don't worry about what's in a vaccine"

unless you played beer pong in the basement of frankenstein medical school against a guy named igor, you were just getting germs, not gene therapy from your beer
easy check is "see if you have bolts on your neck" if no, you're good
keep your head, stay smart, make good choices
