I can’t even begin to describe how this moment affected me. I got emotional. @PedroPascal1’s delivery. The whole idea of how these words must have sat in Din’s mind until he could now repurpose them. Claim the pain & charge on for #Grogu .

It’s #TheMandalorian saying “It’s ON.”
Also, as I talk about with @Naquicious in our @AhchToRadio discussion, we’ve seen Mandalorians motivated by money. By creed. By reputation. Rage, politics, rebellion. All of it.

But *love.* LOVE. You’re fighting love now, sir. ❤️ Gideon is screwed because evil doesn’t get that.
And that’s not to say it’ll end between Din & Gideon in one battle. I don’t believe it will. But the power, the sheer POWER of love being the battle cry, is so affecting & so #StarWars. @RickFamuyiwa, @Jon_Favreau, & @PedroPascal1 should be so proud of that beat. It’s perfect.
The best example of “hero uses the villain’s words against him” that I’ve ever seen. The sheer growth. The way Din’s lost it all so fast. The mission to a Jedi led them to a kidnapping. His home destroyed. Forced to break his creed. All of it.

But he’s got himself.
And it’s not “Mando.” It’s Din. The “warm or cold” guy from Chapter 1 is gone. He’s Din Djarin. Made naked in that sequence with Mayfeld & Valin Hess, BUT, he can now learn to channel “The Mandalorian” for his use. For his family.
This isn’t a man who’s dragged down by the pressure of being “Mando.” This is a father who knows he’s a father and is now going to INFLICT The Mandalorian upon #MoffGideon .
Basically: It’s goddamn SHOWTIME.
God, it’s just so western. It’s so #StarWars. It’s exactly what @Jon_Favreau was saying in Disney Gallery: #TheMandalorian . These are stories about humanity. And this is “Hell’s coming with me.” You push a person until you spark something in them that’ll burn you.
I repeat: Showtime. It’s ON. And it’s so unique to #StarWars too. We’ve seen heroes dig deep, but it’s pretty much always to defy odds, get the surprise attack, resist darkness, etc. But this is a “I’m coming, and I want you to know I’m coming FOR YOU.”
It’s special and it says so much about Din. He’s becoming more of a visceral man. This is a very emotional thing to do. And I believe it’s saying that he’s tired of living quietly. Why should he have to be alone with his thoughts?
So now, #MoffGideon will be alone with thoughts of what’s to come.

Chapter 16: The Father

Chapter 16: The Rebirth

Chapter 16: Give Me Back My Son.
And, as a side note on Gideon: I think he likes this. There’s a note of fear. But also, I think he’s glad that this #Mandalorian didn’t just take it and stay down. He’s a theatrical guy and he’s definitely itching for more than just dodging the New Republic.
Big this vibes from #MoffGideon :
Big this vibes from me:
Also, just the small change of rewording Gideon’s speech to use “he” instead of “it.”

GOD. Dad of the Yeeeeeeaaaar. 😭
