Back when I was a full-time kangaroo parent, I had to carry Cassidy wherever I went. When she was younger, she would curl up inside a bag and wouldnât even be noticed...then she got bigger but still wanted to be carried around

Kangaroo moms kick their more mature offspring out of the pouch eventually, both because they are heavy and because mom often has another baby coming along! 2/4
Cassidyâs mom wasnât producing enough milk for her, so the decision was made to hand-raise Cassidy. This also made her an incredible ambassador for her species-she helps educate thousands of people every year! 3/4
A big caveat to all these pictures: kangaroos and wallabies shouldnât be pets. These are social animals with complex needs. The zoo I worked for had a mob/group of Roos that Cassidy was introduced back into once she was old enough, and she was raised by trained professionals. 4/4
