Back when I was a full-time kangaroo parent, I had to carry Cassidy wherever I went. When she was younger, she would curl up inside a bag and wouldn’t even be noticed...then she got bigger but still wanted to be carried around 😂. 1/4
Kangaroo moms kick their more mature offspring out of the pouch eventually, both because they are heavy and because mom often has another baby coming along! 2/4
Cassidy’s mom wasn’t producing enough milk for her, so the decision was made to hand-raise Cassidy. This also made her an incredible ambassador for her species-she helps educate thousands of people every year! 3/4
A big caveat to all these pictures: kangaroos and wallabies shouldn’t be pets. These are social animals with complex needs. The zoo I worked for had a mob/group of Roos that Cassidy was introduced back into once she was old enough, and she was raised by trained professionals. 4/4
