i dont think ive ever seen a post about racism against arabs here so im talking about it. this is a thread.
Racism against arabs is SO normalized here and its very disgusting. (2/10)
1: Cultural appropriation. ive seen a lot of "Halloween Costumes" like the pictures below, MY culture is NOT a COSTUME for YOU to wear. (3/10)
1.5: Oversexulizing us, this is kind of a part 2 of the last one. i shouldn't have to say anything beside STOP SEXUALIZING OUR CULTURE. (4/10)
2: Insults And Terms, a couple of the most common insults i see is "terr0rist" "IS1S" "Bomb3r" "Allahu Akbar" , these are VERY disturbing. ive seen a LOT of people say these to us but nobody tells them anything and they let it slide like its nothing. (5/10)
2.33: These a
terms come from 911 + the terr0rist organ1zation i$is, NO ARAB CLAIMS THESE PEOPLE. WE ARE NOT I S 1 S. WE ARE NOT T E R R O R I S T S. JOKING ABOUT THIS IS NOT FUNNY. 9 1 1 HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ARABS. (6/10)
2.66: "Allahu Akbar" is a word that means "God Is Great" , this word is islamic and has nothing to do with arabs, but since the west is SUPER ignorant they think that muslim = arab, important sidenote: if you are not muslim you cant say that term. (7/10)
3: Stereotypes. saying that "all arabs ride camels" "arabs live in the desert" "all arabs are billionaires" "arabs are belly dancers" etc.. is very disgusting, ignorant and overall NOT ok. some older stereotypes: "arabs are powerhungry" "*using the term sheik to arabs*" (8/10)
4: Describing Us As "Dirty" , You cant just go to an arab or any person of color and tell them "you look dirty" and use terms like "unclean" "you need a shower" etc.. i dont need to say anything more here. (9/10)
This is all i can cover today. PLEASE RETWEET THIS!! (This thread is serious). (10/10)

this is an example of point 1, this was at a hallowen party. dressing as someones culture is NOT okay. im pretty sure this person is a celebrity, the problem is that nobody talked about it.
