In this last week before holiday office closures, we want to reminisce on 2020, the good times... and the less good times... but most importantly we want to acknowledge our partners for their amazing support. Follow us this week for a trip down memory lane!
The year started on a high, hosting former Africa SciDir & #TaRL Africa board member, @JPAL co-founder, & #NobelPrize winner #AbhijitBanerjee at our office.
In Jan we also held our annual retreat welcoming
@NidhiParekh7 and @AlessiaMortara to the team https://twitter.com/JPAL_Africa/status/1223272368187019267
Between March and and June, #DigiFi was a flurry of activity, launching a COVID RFP round and a webinar series plus providing #AfricanScholars financial support to participate in #MicroMasters. Thanks to @SuriTavneet as well as @HareAimee & @NidhiParekh7 https://twitter.com/JPAL_Africa/status/1240581846792056833
By late summer, our new workstream on #genderequity came to light, with

(1) a blog post on reducing #GBV

(2) webinar with the amazing @PDupas, @KEstellos and #FaustinKoffi from @Educationci on measures to boost #enrolment for the #girlchild post-COVID https://twitter.com/JPAL_Africa/status/1291262516560003072
In September @SuriTavneet spoke at a @G7 panel on women's digital financial inclusion with @cinalawson & @EyobTolina via @gatesfoundation. Soon after we were thrilled & proud to announce that #IsaacMbiti was joining her in the role of Scientific Director. https://twitter.com/SuriTavneet/status/1308817933456543748
