I just want to point out that obviously Victoria's contact tracing was not perfect. When I defend Victoria in these threads, at no way do I mean to instantiate that there were no issues in Victoria. #auspol #springst
This isn't the worst article that #WhattheissueRachel has written but naturally it leaves out important facts that are in Victoria's favor.
Most notably, @rachelbaxendale neglects to mention that the majority of these deaths were in Private & Federally regulated Aged Care. The Aged Care Royal Commission fully puts the blame for these deaths on The Federal Government. #auspol #springst #thisisnotjournalism
Some of you might remember, that the Vic journos agreed (when caught on hot mic) that the Fed Aged Care situation was a scandal and agreed The Fed Government haven't been held to account. Despite this, none of them mentioned that in their articles. #auspol #thisisnotjournalism
The committee made a lot of excellent recommendations. Some that have already been implemented. The report also said that the COVIDSafe App was insignificant but as that reflects poorly on the Fed Government, @rachelbaxendale didn't include it. #thisisnotjournalism #auspol

This article from Professor Raina MacIntyre also suggests that every state in Australia would have been overwhelmed should they have encountered such high case numbers. And before everyone jumps in and says 'yeah but Victoria is the only state with a 2nd wave and high numbers'. This is true but as Dr Swan said, NSW got lucky. Infectious viruses tend to be infectious. #auspol #springst
Something else that every @rachelbaxendale article leaves out is that:
1) Quarantine is a Fed Government responsibility
2) @ScottMorrisonMP gave less that 2 days to setup HQ
3) @ScottMorrisonMP will not release National Cabinet documents as we know it will show his negligence.

In summary, I am not denying problems with Vics contact tracing, I am angry that the articles from @rachelbaxendale and the rest of #MSM only mention the Victorian / @DanielAndrewsMP mistakes and never mention the mistakes from The Liberals. #auspol #springst #thisisnotjournalism
