I was waiting to see if WD might come but since it's looking unlikely, I want to say I don't think it's possible to judge clear cut right/wrong as an outsider, watching skaters pick between a rock & hard place. Skaters shouldn't have had to pick & that's on the organisers
Neither Yuzu or any other skater deserves to shoulder the full responsibility of keeping everyone safe at great personal cost either way - and I don't presume to know precisely what that is - just because there is no decent leadership among the people being paid to keep them safe
I also fear that this risk will be for nothing because I have deep doubts about the viability of Worlds & the safety of athletes even if it goes ahead bc the blatant disregard that Feds like Rusfed have shown. A bubble is only as safe as the first person who breaks the rules
Yuzu's proven over many years that he's aware of the weight of his actions & takes responsibility for them. I trust that he's making the best decision for himself & I hope all the skaters will too. they are all ultimately beholden to their fed, which is where culpability lies
I can only make a personal decision to try & engage as little with JNats content as possible, focusing only on key news. It brings me no joy to see them exploiting footage like skaters crying backstage for an uplifting story. I just hope everyone comes out of it okay
