1st of all. Summary:
Arundolyn was Grandmaster of the Favonius Knights, successor of Vennessa after she ascended. He was a bright & extremely talented leader, able to wield both a claymore & longsword at the same time, w/o a Vision. (1/2)

Arundolyn was granted the title Lion of Light after Vennessaâs Lionfang Knight title. He also loved drinking & often poked fun at Rostam for disliking it. (2/2)
Rostam. Rostam was Arundolynâs rival, childhood playmate, best friend & assistant in the Knights. He was granted the title Wolf Pup (probably after Boreasâ title), & stayed alongside Arun since childhood. (1/4)
Aside from Knighthood, Rostam also was said to have inherited Kreuzlied's secret society, an organization that he used to perform dirty tasks âunfittingâ for a knight, to protect Mondstadt. (2/4)
Rostam hated alcohol, his canteen only had water. He was the origin of the Favonius Sword, both bladework and smithing. (3/ 4)
During an expedition to defeat the monsters born from Khaenriâahâs fall, Rostam lost his life. Arundolyn left his position and retired ever since, mourning his death. (4/4)

What does all this have to do with kaeluc anyway? Several things actually:
1. The phrase âuncrowned kingâ related to Mondstadt has been used for both Arun & Diluc, aside from both of them holding a crucial position in the Knights.

2. Arundolyn loved alcohol, Rostam hated it. Kaeya loves alcohol, Diluc hates it. Likewise, Arundolyn was bright and outgoing, Rostam was cold and gloomy.
3. Dainsleif, in Dilucâs tutorial video narration, said âshould the cataclysm from 500 years ago happen againâ, while Kaeyaâs narration said âshould he find out the truthâ.
4. Kaeyaâs first in-game trial was at the Temple of the Wolf. Dilucâs was at the Temple of the Lion (Darknight Heroâs Alibi quest)
5. âArunâ means âdawnâ in Hindi. âDiluculumâ means âdawnâ in Larin. (Btw, âcrepusculumâ means âtwilightâ)

All this is to say Diluc and Kaeya are very likely to be reincarnations of Arundolyn and Rostam, with their personalities slightly swapped. (Not hinted at any deaths whatsoever thatâs just the fans being maso)
