Thread: SF District 8 Task Force.

An anonymous group has popped up with a horrific level of surveillance on homeless people in SF, publishing a detailed spreadsheet of locations/photos of everyone on the street in the Castro district.

Who are they?

The District 8 Resident Task Force offers no information about who is involved on their website, beyond "concerned residents and business owners."

https://d8rtf.com/
Their spreadsheet contains an incredible level of detail. Daily accounting of every tent or person on the street, linking to photos of that day, or that location over time.

It also tracks supposed crimes like sit/lie and blocking the sidewalk.
In addition, it has editorial posts. Like this one. "Outside and vulnerable" might sound empathetic as a title, but it's a story about wealthy residents encountering "derelicts" and "methed-up mental cases" "detrimental to business."
Another section of the website has "NAG Reports," which gives away their identity (read on); SF NAG, or Ford Street Neighborhood Action Group.

In this one, "decent neighbors" are disgusted that a freezing man asked for a blanket, while they just wanted to walk their dogs.
There are several posts calling people *filth* and wanting them swept up by police at a *Holocaust memorial* called Pink Triangle Park.

With zero sense of awareness of the Holocaust, or what black triangles signified. It's just a piece of real estate to them.
Who is behind the D8 Resident Task Force? There are lots of clues.

A man named Michael "Kenneth" Koehn recruits on Nextdoor for D8RTF.
Koehn is involved in medical cannabis advocacy orgs Brownie Mary Democratic Club @BrownieMarySF and Americans for Safe Access @SafeAccess.

This is a story about him in SF Weekly.

One of the only names that appears on the d8rtf site is Michael Babbitt; a director at Dolby Laboratories. @Dolby
On the D8RTF site, they post regular interactions with Tom Temprano, legislative aide to Supervisor Rafael Mandelman.
The follow up video to the Gofundme thanks donors and Rafael Manselman for support.

Up until just today, the domain http://sfnag.com  was forwarding to http://d8rtf.org . An archive version of the site gives names of the core group. The photos of tents belong to an account for Ford Street Association (SFNAG, Ford Street NAG).
Using the name Ford Street NAG, this group holds regular meetings with Rafael Mandelman. Third photo is a shot from one of his meetings with them from the Bay Area Reporter.
